Bowdon Rugby Club
Founded in 1877 Bowdon Rugby Club have, in recent years, been investing heavily in the clubhouse and infrastructure. The latest stage was the installation of a 50 kilowatt Solar array. By renting out the roof space on the club house and fixing their electricity price for the next 25 years the projected savings will be more than a quarter of a million pounds.
With four senior teams competing in the North-West Intermediate Leagues and a rapidly growing mini and junior section this CASH-injection of a quarter of a million pounds helps secure the clubs future come rain or shine through to the next generation.
Bowdon chairman Tom Sloan has endorsed the solar array saying ‘The one thing we all know is that energy costs are going up – so fixing a deal now made total sense. For us the savings help secure the future of the club and helps put more players on the pitch as we’ll get more members as a result of having better and more economic facilities.’
