Sigenergy Battery Backup Installation for Lucky Hedgehog Rescue Centre

We recently had the pleasure of installing a Sigenergy battery backup system for Lucky Hedgehog Rescue Centre in Grimston, helping provide vital power cut protection for the hedgehogs and hoglets in their care.

Although the rescue centre already had a solar panel array in place, they were still being affected by power cuts. For most homes, a power cut is an inconvenience. For a rescue centre looking after vulnerable animals, it can become a serious risk.

Many of the hedgehogs at Lucky Hedgehog Rescue Centre rely on essential equipment such as heat pads, intensive care support and controlled warm spaces. This is especially important for the smallest and weakest hoglets who need consistent warmth and care to survive.

The solution

To give the centre greater energy security, we installed a Sigenergy AC-coupled battery system with Gateway power cut protection.

The system included:

  • Sigenergy 5kW inverter
  • Sigenergy battery storage
  • Sigenergy Gateway
  • Power cut protection
  • AC-coupled setup, working alongside the existing solar panel system.

This means the rescue centre can now store energy and keep essential equipment running during a power cut, giving Lucy and her team much-needed peace of mind.
