Most people will be aware of the horrendous flooding that is happening in South Yorkshire and other places up and down the country. The heavy rain started over a week ago and as I am writing this it is pouring down now, again.
We have heard lots of theories as to why the flooding occurred, rivers needing dredging, building on flood plains etc, but all that is kind of putting the cart before the horse. The concern should be about the unprecedented amount of rainfall that is causing the problem in the first place.
Global warming, climate change, whatever we want to call it, is now the undeniable reason for the extreme weather conditions that are happening all over the world. While ever we keep burning fossil fuels it will only get worse.
Renewable energy has got to be the way forward, solar energy is a clean green alternative, coupled with battery storage systems that allow you to make use of your solar panels at night.
It is never too late to make a change and if we all at least take a look at what we can do to make a difference that has got to be a help , hasn’t it ?
As a little extra. Andy has just quoted for an Off Grid solar system. The price is in the region of £38,000. WOW I hear you say. Well, the customer was quoted £50,000 for a grid connection and we estimate the electric bills would be in the region of £900 per annum. Factor in a bit of inflation and over the next 20 years that customer would be out of pocket over £82,000. 38K doesn’t seem so bad now and IT IS GREEN, CLEAN & CARBON FREE!!!!
